Attendance Check-In
May. 29th, 2012 11:13 pmHi Palhonchos!
We're running a little behind, but this is your very first attendance check-in!
We'd like you to contact all of your team members in whatever way you think will work best--email, comm post, skype, etc.--and ask them to get in touch with you somehow before the end of sign-ups. Then we need you to email us with 'FIRST TEAM CHECK-IN' in the title. Your team name (characters and quadrant, not the literal comm name!) and any absences should be listed in the body of the email. Those absences will be listed as MIA, and the sign-ups marked invalid.
Please contact us before June 1, 11:59PM EDT. If you do not, we will consider you MIA and your sign-up will be marked as invalid; palhonchosity will be awarded to the current Vice-Palhoncho, if there is one. If your team does not have a Vice-Palhoncho, we will ask the rest of your team to appoint a Palhoncho from among themselves.
If you think you have received this message in error, please contact us ASAP.
Sincerely,
mimicre and inkstrangle
So! Everyone please let us know ASAP:
1. who is missing from your team and
2. who you instate as your vice-palhoncho.
If you are a member of an Alchemiter team I also ask for your team communities.
Thank you!

Date: 2012-05-30 09:27 pm (UTC)If you've heard from them recently you could choose to vouch for them, regardless, and we would never know. Still, you don't need to have your roll call in until midnight of June 1st. They might turn up by then.
(After working with the HSO for a few months, it seems to me that people are almost less likely to check their e-mail than tumblr/DW.)

Date: 2012-05-30 10:07 pm (UTC)They joined the community a week ago, but did not respond to our introduction post or rules post despite me sending them a message asking them to do so. I'd messaged them on Tumblr and Dreamwidth for a while before that without response.
I don't want to drop them if they're going to be active later, but I don't want to wait too long because there might be someone who wants to switch to our team...

Date: 2012-05-30 10:22 pm (UTC)I know it seems mean and cold but it really sucks a lot more when you have a team full of no-shows in the end. And rest assured that if they reappear they can e-mail us and depending on the circumstances we could let them back in. They may no longer be able to get on your team, but I guess this is an "easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission" sort of situation. Boot from the team now, apologize later if they come back.
A lot of the people who will be cut after this won't be back. The HSO is probably going to have half the active participants by the end that it has at the beginning, so we're expecting this sort of thing to happen a lot.
